Feminem

Feminem.com favors the aspects of individuality, originality, and talent, and is against the idea of mainstream exploitation, and is not against any one particular person in general that exhibits this characteristic. This website uses Eminem as the prime example of mainstream exploitation, as his entire career is a perfect example of superficial popularity through the use of unethical actions and media-hyped acceptance. There are several icons currently in the mainstream scene that exhibit the same superficial traits, but Eminem is clearly one of the most used tools by the mainstream media to appeal to and exploit the large rap-loving Caucasian genre.

Through this website, established in 2001, Eminem is known as "Feminem" due to his frequent tendencies to dress in drag, and his commonly displayed closet-like behaviors. Eminem is the "Queen of the Mainstream" because he is the music industry's most highly advertised popular gimmick aimed directly at the mainstream population of conformative people. Obviously, he is the "Queen" and not "King" due to the same reasoning for his alias "Feminem" as opposed to "Eminem."

Overall, Eminem is a superficial mainstream rapper originating from the suburbs of Detroit. Eminem grew up with a "troubled" childhood and adolescence, but in all honesty, who hasn't? Lacking the ability to do anything intellectual, Eminem found himself creating rap songs that continually revolved around himself and his inability to deal with the problems caused by his own past. Finishing 2nd place at a freestyle contest in 1997, Andre Young (also known as Dr. Dre, a rapper and music producer) chose not to go with the best, took Eminem under his arm, and began the process of promoting him to popularity. At that point in time, the mainstream music industry needed someone of the Caucasian race with decent rapping skills in order to exploit the large Caucasian population now interested in rap music in the USA.

Eminem and the mainstream music industry in general have succeeded in manipulating millions of conformative teenagers around the world through the widespread desire for acceptance and popularity. These superficial fans of Eminem have been brainwashed into the general belief that popularity, acceptance, appearance, and income are some of the most important aspects in life. Due to the fact that Eminem is currently popular and heavily advertised by the mainstream media, his fanbase continues to show their support with depthless reasons such as "he's hot." Many of these people go as far to say they can relate to Eminem's music (although it's not exclusively his own creation). If that's the case, these people are simply as immature as Eminem and his inability to cope with his past and the anger evoked from it. In fact, the content of his songs is directly aimed at these soft-core "looking for meaning" masses to exploit that relation.

Eminem and the mainstream music industry currently spend their time straining to think of new ideas to prevent Eminem's popularity from decreasing. Controversialism plays a large role in this constant popularity. Eminem continues to carry out the most controversial acts within reason to maintain a high level of attention and popularity, regardless of the moral and ethical ramifications involved. To help spread his constant popularity, Eminem also explores alternative forms of media (i.e. movies, etc.), not because he is multi-talented, but because his level of popularity permits him to do anything he wants. This has permitted the mainstream industry to use Eminem in the exploitation of people interested in other forms of media as well.

Eminem also spends a great deal of time suing individuals and corporations (or defending himself from lawsuits) in an attempt to increase or maintain his level of income. He attempted to avoid lawsuits with his own mother and ex-wife, while simultaneously suing Apple Computers Inc., MTV, Napster (not to mention his involvement in lawsuits aimed at other Mp3-file sharers throughout the internet), and a various assortment of other individuals and corporations. Despite the controversy and the media's direct exploitation, Eminem will remain popular as long as there is a superficial base of conformative people found throughout the world, as they are easiest for the music industry and Eminem to exploit.
